The Virgin Islands Department of Education informs parents, guardians, faculty, staff, and students that Pearl B. Larsen PreK-8 School is scheduled to resume school operations on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.
This decision follows the completion of critical repairs earlier this evening. Maintenance personnel removed and replaced the old water pipe, and the new pipe is currently undergoing the required curing process, which allows the adhesive to dry completely. Once fully cured, the water will be turned on by the Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority (WAPA).
Maintenance personnel are closely monitoring the situation overnight to ensure that all systems are fully operational and safe for reopening. While we remain cautiously optimistic, we recognize the importance of giving families sufficient time to prepare for the return to school. Therefore, this announcement is being issued this evening in anticipation of school reopening in the morning.
We thank the Pearl B. Larsen school community for your continued patience and understanding. Maintenance crews will continue monitoring late tonight and early in the morning to ensure that all facilities are in proper working order ahead of Tuesday’s school day. We look forward to welcoming students, faculty, and staff back to school on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.
For continued updates, please monitor the Virgin Islands Department of Education’s official communication channels.
