St. Croix Central High School Hosts Inaugural Carib Career Fair, Empowering Students for Success

St. Croix Central High School (CHS) proudly hosted its inaugural Carib Career Fair on February 19th and 20th in the school's gymnasium, bringing together a diverse group of community partners dedicated to enriching students' educational experiences and career aspirations.

CHS Assistant Principal Minerva Delauney shared that over the course of two dynamic days, students engaged with professionals from various industries, including government agencies, military branches, the private sector, and local entrepreneurs. The fair featured informative presentations and interactive sessions, providing students with valuable insights into a wide range of career pathways both within and beyond the Virgin Islands.

The event aligned seamlessly with CHS’s mission to prepare students for the future by offering real-world experiences and exposure to potential career opportunities. By connecting students with local organizations, the fair served as a platform for meaningful discussions that not only informed but also inspired students to explore vocational pathways and higher education options.

Key highlights of the event included engaging presentations from the Air Force and Army National Guard, interactive sessions led by Ocean Point and VINGN, and hands-on demonstrations from both CHS and St. Croix Career & Technical Education Center programs. These sessions showcased the diverse career opportunities available, and the essential skills needed to thrive in today’s competitive job market.

“This Career Fair is a vital step in supporting our students’ future endeavors. By collaborating with our community partners, we are opening doors for our students and equipping them with the resources they need to succeed after graduation. It’s a testament to our school’s mission of empowering students through education and career readiness. We are truly grateful for everyone who contributed their time and expertise, and I am especially proud of the committee for their dedication to making this event a success,” said CHS Principal Andrea Hobson.

CHS is committed to making the Carib Career Fair an annual tradition, aiming for it to become a cornerstone event in their academic calendar. By fostering connections between students and community partners, the school hopes to continue enhancing educational and career opportunities for all students.
