Firefighters from the Virgin Islands Fire and Emergency Medical Services (VIFEMS) swiftly extinguished the flames. No students, faculty, or staff were present on the campus or administrative office at the time of the fire.

Following an investigation by VIFEMS, it was determined that the fire originated due to heavy rainfall causing water leakage in the area where the AC duct was located. The adverse weather conditions, coupled with intermittent power disruptions throughout the day, led to an electrical shortage of the appliance, resulting in the fire. The incident has been classified as accidental.

In light of the lingering odor from the smoke and the necessity for thorough cleaning of the premises, the school campus will remain closed on Friday, February 9, 2024. Students will continue to receive instruction through virtual learning.
