For four consecutive years, students of the Foreign Language Program at St. Croix Central High School have had the opportunity of an Educational-Cultural Trip and Exchange with students from Puerto Rico. This year students traveled to Puerto Rico on May 6th through May 10th.
The trip was an enriching experience where students had the opportunity to visit touristic places throughout the island, such as museums, the City of Ponce, University of Puerto Rico Mayaguez Campus, and a culinary school. Students also had the opportunity to exchange with and learn from students of the School of Fine Arts of the Municipality of Mayaguez, visit the Capitolio (Senators Building) in San Juan and attend a special dinner at the Cassabe Restaurant in Mayaguez. To wrap up the trip students enjoyed a shopping day.
Student behavior was excellent as they demonstrated interest in learning about the culture of the Puerto Rican people, the country's political system and integrated with other students.
The trip was organized by Ms. Eli A. Torres, Spanish Instructor and Chairperson of Foreign Language, Ms. Silvia Ramírez and Mr. Ehsan Said.
