NASA engineers visit students and teachers at Charlotte Amalie High School on May 12, 2016.
The Department of Education, in conjunction with VIMSPGIA and NASA, sponsored an Educator Professional Development Initiative and K-12 STEM Program during the week of May 9-14, 2016. The week-long activity featured presentations from NASA engineers and more, all designed to help students and teachers embrace STEM subjects.
Student programs were held at Ulla Muller Elementary, Ivanna Eudora Kean High School and Charlotte Amaile High School. A community outreach program was held at the Montessori School and an undergraduate program was held at University of the Virgin Islands.
The visit was coordinated by Shamika Williams-Henley, State STEM Director.
