Alfredo Andrews School Alpha Soldiers perform at the school’s Christmaslandia Program on December 16.
Holiday decorations adorning the stage and surroundings, complemented by bright colors worn by students made for a festive mood as the Alfredo Andrews Elementary School auditorium was transformed into “Christmaslandia” on Friday, December 16.
Highly-spirited students filled with the joy of the Season took to the stage by grade level to entertain faculty and staff, parents, family and friends. Students from Kindergarten through sixth grade sang Christmas carols, danced and recited poems to help make the season bright. Faculty and staff members, along with parents also got in on the holiday spirit by filling in with the Cha Cha Slide when a scheduled class group was not prepared to perform.
The Alfredo Andrews Elementary School Steel Orchestra closed out the entertainment with a popular Christmas Carol.
Principal Joan Claxton thanked the Alfredo Andrews School family “for the understanding, support and patience for all the students who participated in and made Christmaslandia Program 2016 a star-studded success.” She also expressed special thanks to Vicky-Lyn Ashby for decorating the auditorium and to the school’s steel orchestra instructor, Jessy Joseph for an outstanding presentation with the students.
Assistant Principals Yves Abraham and Gwenhilda Phillips also provided inspirational and closing remarks, respectively. Sharon C. Dollete directed most of the school’s musical groups, and Thamrah Gomes and Qurell Allen served as mistresses of ceremonies.
