The Virgin Islands Department of Education (VIDE) announces that Ivanna Eudora Kean High School will continue with virtual instruction on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. Yesterday, the school was dismissed early due to a lack of running water, as the Water and Power Authority (WAPA) worked to repair a water pump station affecting the eastern side of St. Thomas.
VIDE officials have been informed by WAPA that the water supply has not yet been restored. As a result, students will need to remain at home for another day until running water is fully available, which is essential to ensure a healthy and safe environment for the school community.
Classes will proceed online, with students receiving assignments and instructions from their teachers via email or Teams.
The Virgin Islands Department of Education appreciates the patience and understanding of parents, guardians, and the community as we prioritize the safety and well-being of our students. Please monitor official VIDE communication channels for further updates.
