It is with great enthusiasm that we introduce Mrs. Andrea Shillingford as the new Deputy Superintendent for the St. Croix District. Mrs. Shillingford is excited to collaborate with each of you, bringing her extensive experience and passion for educational leadership to drive the district toward achieving our goals and priorities. Her commitment to advancing the success and well-being of all students is unwavering, and we are confident that her leadership will have a significant impact on our district.
Mrs. Shillingford is a Certified English, ESOL, and K-12 Specialized Instruction Teacher, Special Education Compliance Supervisor, and School Director. With 14 years of experience in Educational Diagnostic Assessments, Specialized Academic Instruction, Behavior Intervention Planning, Program Development, and School Leadership, she is well-equipped to guide our district to new heights. Her training as an Autism TEACCH Practitioner, Positive Behavior Support Coach, Response to Intervention Coordinator, and expertise in various Multi-Tiered Systems of Support Programs, including Structured Literacy for learners with Dyslexia, further underscores her dedication to student achievement.
As a Special Education School Director, Mrs. Shillingford provided essential support, training, and strategic problem-solving for her staff. She effectively managed school resources to enhance educational outcomes and operational efficiency while ensuring that our special education programs aligned with IDEA and best practices.
Mrs. Shillingford holds a Bachelor’s degree in English and a Master’s Degree in Special Education with an Emphasis on Behavior and Autism. Her hands-on experience across all levels of the continuum of services gives her a deep understanding of classroom dynamics and student needs. Additionally, her international teaching experience at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies in China highlights her commitment to cross-cultural education and student development.
