The Virgin Islands Department of Education's Division of Maintenance and Plant Operations in the St. Croix District, under the leadership of William Matthew, recently completed significant repairs to school buildings and grounds all across the district.
Students at the Juanita Gardine Elementary School returned on September 6 to a newly installed drainage system that would eliminate flooding on the school's grounds during heavy rainfall. Contractors installed a sturdy concrete structure to replace the previous one made of metal grills that were easily clogged.
