The Lew Muckle Lady Lions are the 2017 St. Croix Interscholastic Elementary Softball Champions after defeating the Ricardo Richards Strawberries 22-10 on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at the Basilio Ballpark in Castle Coakley. Fourth grader and Lady Lions pitcher, Denaesjah Charles was the championship MVP.
The Lady Lions, coached by Wendy Wynter, Lisa Thomas and Rechelle Dungca beat the number one team, the Claude O. Markoe Lady Marlins in the playoffs to advance to the championship to matchup with Ricardo Richards Strawberries, who defeated the Alfredo Andrews Blazers.
The Lady Lions will celebrate their victory with a pizza party and in-school parade.
