The Virgin Islands Department of Education announces Phase 2: Public School Operations for the St. Croix District on Thursday, October 5, 2023. Assessments have been completed to evaluate the impact of weather-related effects from Tropical Storm Philippe, and the impact of WAPA power outages on school campuses. St. Croix schools will open according to a 2- hour delayed schedule. Bus services will be provided. Faculty, staff, and paraprofessionals are required to report to their designated campuses at 9:00 am.
REMINDER: Per Phase 1 announcement, Central High School is closed, and Eulalie Rivera will distribute instructional packets at the school from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm for virtual learning.
Although assessments of schools in the St. Thomas-St. John District have been completed and schools have been prepared for students and faculty based on a 2- hour delayed start; the St. Thomas - St. John District is still without power at all schools due to the WAPA power outage. Information regarding school start times is impacted by schools being without power. Updated information regarding the St. Thomas-St. John District is forthcoming.
