STTJ District Now Accepting Applications for Summer Feeding Program

ST. THOMAS, USVI – The Virgin Islands Department of Education School Food Authority, St. Thomas-St. John District, wishes to inform the public that applications for EMPLOYMENT and SITES/CAMPS for the Summer Feeding Program are now available at the Office of School Food Authority in Subbase.

  •  Employment application deadline is May 31, 2016
  • Site/Camp application deadline is June 3, 2016

The Summer Feeding Program will operate from July 5, 2016 through August 12, 2016. Only children ages 2-18 and those with special needs up to age 21 are eligible to participate in the Summer Feeding Program.

FY 2016 Summer Food Service Program Sponsor And Job Applications Now Available

ST. THOMAS, USVI – The Virgin Islands Department of Education State Office of Special Nutrition Programs has announced the availability of the 2016 Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) sponsor application packages and summer job applications.

Public or non-profit organizations interested in becoming a sponsor, as well as high school or college students interested in applying for a summer job may obtain the desired application by contacting the State Office of Special Nutrition Programs at (340) 774-0100 x 2817 (St. Thomas-St. John) or (340) 773-1095 x 7082 or x 7046 (St. Croix).

Submission deadline for the sponsor application package is Friday, May 13, 2016. Submission deadline for summer job applications is Friday, May 27, 2016.

School-age children from years 2 - 18 may receive free meals through SFSP. Persons 19 years of age and older with mental or physical disability (as determined by a state or local educational agency) and who participates during the school year in a public or private non-profit school program (established for the mentally or physically disabled) is also eligible to receive meals.
