Steven Ventura Age: 17 Height: 5’ 10” Weight: 260lbs left-handed Favorite Subject: English
Has been playing baseball from the time he was a little boy in the backyard with his grandfather, Justino Sanchez and mother Marisol Ventura. “We’d be throwing ball from the time I could walk.”
He sometimes plays ball in St. Croix’s Man League and in the Men’s AA Baseball League.
Steven played other sports such as basketball and volleyball, “but baseball had given me a different buzz,” he says.
How do you feel about the win? It was better to me because we have some good players its a team and there is no “I” in team. Everybody puts in their work and did what they had to do and helped me with a win
I’ve been looking at some colleges and inviting baseball scouts to take a look at me and if it does not work out my back up plan is to go to a trade school to pursuit a career in aviation mechanic.
Was pitching the key? “Pitching was not key to this win because yesterday we had a different pitcher and my pitcher did as good as me and we won the game.”
Key to the win: Teamwork and Positivity: pick up everybody if they did bad, if anybody makes a mistake, tell them to pick up their head, carry it back in the box and let’s go
