CHS Senior To Compete In Bowling World Cup In Las Vegas

ST. CROIX, USVI -- St. Croix Central High School senior LaMonique Berrios, 17, will compete in the 54th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup, being held November 4-11 in Las Vegas.

Berrios, who will travel to Las Vegas on November 3, is considered the top female bowler in the Virgin Islands. She qualified for the high-profile tournament after defeating three other female bowlers over a 16-game span.

Her highest score came in 2016 when she bowled a 279--almost a perfect score.

Last summer, Berrios participated in the Junior Gold competition in Dallas, where she ranked 94th out of 859 female bowlers.

Berrios began bowling during a family vacation at age seven and quickly adapted to the sport. She plans to continue bowling when she attends Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas next fall to study computer engineering.
