Application must be received no later than April 19, 2019
One high school student will be selected to receive the Magens Bay Authority Edmund Penn Scholarship which covers tuition, fees, books, and supplies. This reoccurring scholarship will be awarded for a maximum of five years to a student attending the University of the Virgin Islands.
How To Apply:
Interested students must submit the following to the UVI Office of Institutional Advancement no later than April 19, 2018. Please provide your name and contact information on a separate cover page.
- UVI acceptance letter
- high school transcripts
- SAT scores
- 1,000-word essay explaining "the benefits of preserving natural coastal regions throughout the Virgin Islands"
The scholarship recipient must be an incoming freshman who graduated from a high school in either the St.Thomas-St. John or St. Croix District. The applicant must plan to major in Marine Biology, Biology, Chemistry, or minor in Environmental Science at the University of the Virgin Islands.
To be considered, applicants must have a minimum SAT Score of 490 Math / 500 English. The recipient must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA overall to retain the scholarship.
The scholarship recipient must provide the Magens Bay Authority Board with an academic progress report at the conclusion of each academic year the scholarship is awarded.
